Briggs & LittleBriggs & Little is “Canada’s Oldest Woolen Mill,” and has been in existence since 1857. All Briggs & Little yarns are made from 100% Canadian domestic wools, and are milled at their factory in York Mills, New Brunswick, Canada. They produce a complete lineup of mainly natural yarns ranging from fingering to bulky weight. The wool used for Briggs & Little yarns goes through the normal sorting, spinning and cleaning process. However, their yarns do not undergo the "carbonizing" process, or strong acid bath, that many manufacturers use. This acid bath is not environmentally friendly, and strips the yarn of its natural oils. Therefore, you may notice the occasional fragment of hay or plant material in your Briggs & little yarn. This hay or plaint material is easily removed by hand or it may fall out when the garment is washed.
